Africa-Press – Angola. The Ministry of Social Action, Family and Women’s Promotion (MASFAMU) will hold a public consultation for the amendment of the Law Against Domestic Violence, whose formal act of launching will take place, Tuesday (13), in Luanda.

The initiative, according to a press release, aims to consolidate the perspectives of the Government of Angola and its main partners towards the revision of Law 25/11, of 14 July.

The source recognizes that domestic violence is a worrying reality in Angola, affecting women, men and children across the country.

The revision of the Law Against Domestic Violence aims to strengthen legal protection for victims, expand the range of measures to prevent and punish perpetrators, as well as promote greater awareness of victims’ rights.

MASFAMU considers public consultation as a fundamental step in the process of revising current legislation, allowing the active participation of civil society, non-governmental organizations, specialists and other interested parties.

Through this consultation, it seeks to collect opinions, suggestions and contributions that help to improve the law, making it more comprehensive and effective in combating domestic violence.
