Africa-Press – Angola. The Ministry of Social Action, Family and Women’s Promotion (MASFAMU) promotes, this Tuesday, in Cunene province, the seminar on the Municipalization of Social Action, aiming to equip administrators and technicians of the sector on the implementation of programs of combating poverty.
The one-day seminar aims to ensure the effectiveness of the expansion of the municipalization of social action, at provincial level, as well as the efficient implementation of ongoing programs and projects.
At the opening of the event, the provincial governor of Cunene, Gerdina Didalelwa, said she hoped that the knowledge to be transmitted could help in the municipalization of social action in the communities, mainly with vulnerable families.
He warned the participants to pay due attention to the subjects taught, raise doubts and concerns related to the execution of the program to combat poverty in favor of the well-being of the communities.
He made it known that Cunene is one of those provinces that lack targeted support from the Ministry, due to the problems of drought, as a result of irregular rains.
The minister stressed that 2023 is also approaching food shortages, due to lack of rain, where families will need help in the most varied areas.
Gerdina Didalelwa clarified that the local population is dedicated to agriculture and cattle raising, with cattle being the main source of family income, but that in recent years it has tended to disappear due to lack of pasture and water.
“The population has the habit of producing and storing cereals, so that they can have food stocks during the dry period, but currently they are unable to do so because the province is on its way to 10 consecutive years without regular rains”, he stressed.
Alongside these, he added the existence of two nomadic minority groups, which are not included in the class of producers, such as the Vátuas in Curoca and koisans in the municipalities of Cuanhama, Namacunde, Ombadja and Cuvelai.
He said that the work day of the Minister of Social Action, Family and Women’s Promotion in Cunene constitutes an opportunity for interaction between the central and local bodies, based on the slogan “Work harder and communicate better”.
Gerdina Didalelwa referred that the body has a great impact on the lives of families and the general population, having invited the minister to sponsor the province with the Executive in policies to combat poverty, drought and hunger.
The governor praised the support of the Executive in implementing policies aimed at minimizing the effects of the drought, highlighting the construction of the Cafu canal and the execution of other structural projects in the municipalities of Cuvelai (Ndué and Calucuve dams) and Curoca (Cova do Leão). .
During the training session, participants addressed topics related to the implementation of the 2022 program to combat poverty, an online monitoring report through the SIGAPCP platform.
Training on the integrated social action management system and the recommendations of the 28th session of the Committee for Persons with Disabilities (Accessibility Law), figure on the agenda.
