Africa-Press – Angola. The city of Menongue, in Cuando Cubango, will host, for the first time, next Saturday, the 9th, the Provincial Championship of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) which will qualify two athletes for the national competition, to be held in April, in Luanda.
The announcement was made on Monday by the vice-president of the Angolan Federation of the sport, Nimi Pedro, who has been in Menongue since Saturday, to witness the championship that was scheduled for last Sunday. The official also explained that the late arrival of an octagon and other sports materials, coming from the province of Huíla, postponed the competition. The Cuando Cubango Provincial Championship, which will be promoted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, will feature 30 athletes ranging from 50kg to 100kg. In addition, five fighters, from three local clubs, will also compete against each other.
