Africa-Press – Angola. The minister of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing, Carlos dos Santos, learned yesterday of the levels of physical and financial execution of works under the responsibility of the Central and Local Government, already concluded in Cabinda province.

The manager, who is on a working visit to that part of the country, was briefed by the governor of Cabinda, Mara Quiosa, on the current state of some degraded buildings, roads and ravines that require urgent intervention.

During the visits, he noted the current state of the new administrative building of the provincial government, a completed work and under the central responsibility, which lacks funding for its equipping.

He also visited the old buildings built in the colonial era, in an advanced state of degradation, namely, the Maiombe and Congresso hotels, the Military Recruitment Centre, the Youth and Sports and Commerce secretariats, infrastructures already cataloged by the provincial secretariat for public works. public as in need of rehabilitation.

Carlos dos Santos, who is accompanied by civil engineers and architects from his ministry, also found out about the current level of execution of integrated infrastructures in the city of Cabinda, on Avenida Duque de Chiazi, Rua Amaro Tati and in Vila Esperança, places where work is taking place to place concrete and asphalt on the roads to improve the mobility of means and people.

He witnessed the self-consignment of the works to contain the ravines located in the areas of Tchizo, Mabel and next to the Marine Pollution Analysis Center in the town of Caio.

He also went to the locality of Sassa-Zau, in the municipality of Malembo to award the rehabilitation work for a 26 km section of the National Road – EN-202, which runs from Sassa-Zau to the village of S. Pedro Cote, with with a view to overcoming the current constraints and mobility difficulties that the populations of those circumscriptions face in their day-to-day to reach the headquarters of the city of Cabinda, due to the poor state of the road.
