Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of State and Head of the Military House of the President of the Republic, Francisco Furtado, participates, in the city of Bissau, in the festivities of the 50th Anniversary of the National Independence of Guinea-Bissau.
Representing the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, in the Guinean capital, Francisco Furtado was present, Wednesday, at the official welcome dinner offered by the President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embaló.
Guinea-Bissau celebrates this Thursday the 50th Anniversary of National Independence and the 59th of its Armed Forces.
The two peoples have maintained ties of cooperation and friendship since the liberation struggle against Portuguese colonialism.
Guinea-Bissau’s debt to Angola, worth 49 million dollars, was restructured, in 2022, within the framework of a memorandum of understanding signed, in Luanda, between the governments of the two countries, with which the payment period is extended for 35 years.
