Africa-Press – Angola. The minister of Social Action, Family and Women’s Promotion, Ana Neto, recommended this Friday the strengthening of actions aimed at promoting agriculture, primary health care and training of young people in the villages, within the framework of the Integrated Program of Local Development, Combating Poverty (PIDLCP).

Speaking to the press, on the sidelines of the working visit that she has been carrying out since Thursday in Lunda Norte, the official also recommended that investment be reinforced in training traditional midwives, to avoid risky deliveries, expanding the school and health network in rural communities

“The number of births reported in the villages is worrying, which is why we need to invest more in training traditional midwives, encourage women to give birth in health units, to avoid maternal deaths”, he stressed.

On the other hand, he appealed for rigor, transparency and responsibility in the management of funds, avoiding the implementation of projects outside the alignment of the Integrated Program for Local Development, Combating Poverty.

He called for more attention to vulnerable families, promotion of citizenship and empowerment of rural women.

The minister’s first day of work was marked by a meeting with the municipal administrators of the ten municipalities, directors of the Studies, Planning and Statistics Offices (GEPE), to assess the degree of execution of the PIDLCP.

Today, Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto visited some projects carried out under the PIDLCP in the municipality of Chitato and EXPO-DUNDO.

The objectives of the Integrated Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty are aligned with the National Development Plan, through coordinated management, based on an adequate selection of territories and beneficiaries, after consultation between the municipal administrations.
