Africa-Press – Angola. More than 50 employees of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, in the country, have been dismissed since 2023, for misconduct, with emphasis on extortion of citizens and other causes related to the provision of services.
The information was provided this Monday, in the city of Lubango, province of Huíla, by the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Marcy Lopes, who said that employees who lied to users about the existence of the Single Payment Reference to the State were on the list ( RUPE), to receive payments in cash, damaging public coffers.
He declared that dozens of employees are in this condition and that the ministry will continue to purge the public service of those who do not serve, as it is a place of excellence, not for people to take advantage of others, stating that “zero tolerance” has been decreed. corruption in the ministry.
He mentioned that the ministry’s concern is to improve the quality of service provided to citizens, so that they feel respected, dignified and their problems are resolved in the shortest possible time.
“We have seen complaints from citizens regarding the service in some justice services, which is why we have been making improvements in the quality of service, with the zero tolerance mechanism for all people who do not provide good service to the public or who charge a rate different from that stipulated,” he said.
For a long time, he highlighted, the idea was created that in the public service you don’t resign, and we want to discipline people to provide a quality public service.
Marcy Lopes promised to end, in the short term, the huge queues at the institution’s services and guarantee faster and more efficient service.
The minister is on a three-day visit to Huíla, where, he was at the facilities of the provincial services of the Justice and Human Rights delegation, the Identification Archive, the Registry Office, Notary Office, the Tundavala identification post, Guiché Unique to the Lubango Company, as well as the Integrated Citizen Assistance Service.
For Tuesday, a trip to the municipality of Chibia is planned, to visit the Conservatory and the Notary’s Office, both 2nd class, the Municipal Office of Civil and Criminal Identification and the space for the future installations of the registry stores.
Returning to Lubango, Marcy Lopes will visit the space for the Mapunda neighborhood registry store and some property proposals for changing justice services in Lubango.
For the following day, an assembly is planned with employees assigned to the supervisory ministry, in the city of Lubango.
