Africa-Press – Angola. The Ministry of Planning (MinPlan) plans to launch, on Tuesday, at the National School of Administration and Public Policies (ENAPP), in Luanda, the “Diversifica Mais” project.
This is an initiative to accelerate the diversification of the economy.
According to a note made available by MinPlan, on its Facebook page, “Diversifica Mais” aims to increase private investment and the climate-resilient growth of micro, small and medium-sized companies in supply chains non-oil value, particularly in the Lobito Corridor.
This vision must be materialized through improving the regulatory and institutional environment for trade, as well as the creation and growth of companies and financial services.
The project intends to pay special attention to initiatives owned or managed by women. The idea involves attracting public and private investments in productive infrastructures and improving companies’ capabilities.
This Government initiative has the support of the World Bank.
In July last year, during a visit to Luanda by the vice-president of the World Bank for Sub-Saharan Africa, Vitória Kwakwa, the parties expressed their desire to work towards accelerating the diversification of the economy.
This “Diversifica Mais” project also aims to create more jobs and has a disbursement from the World Bank of 300 million dollars. The financing aims to guarantee access to logistics centers, electricity and staff training.
The project will be implemented in the Lobito Corridor, and aligns with the strategy of bringing together commercial banking, so that this segment can provide a credit package valued at 400 million dollars to support micro and small companies.
The Ministry of Planning is the manager, par excellence, of the Government’s policies summarized in the National Development Plan and which combines materialization with multisectoral interconnection.
