Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan Ministry of the Interior (MININT) reinforced road accident prevention efforts on Sunday in Luanda, aiming to reduce accidents and deaths on the country’s roads.
The action took place during an awareness march led by the Minister of the Interior, Manuel Homem, under the slogan “Change Before It’s Too Late” and aimed to alert society to the dangers of non-compliance with the Highway Code.
The initiative is part of the National Road Safety Program launched on September 11th.
The activity included physical exercises, followed by a walk that started at the Port of Luanda and ended in the Bay.
MININT data indicates that, annually, more than three thousand people lose their lives and more than 16 thousand are injured as a result of road accidents in the country.
