Africa-Press – Angola. The Secretary of State for Youth, Francisco Chitapa, defended Wednesday, in Luanda, more corporal autonomy for young Angolan women.
Francisco Chitapa also wants to see an increase in knowledge in comprehensive sexual health, the fight against sexual and moral abuse and exploitation, as well as raising awareness of women’s health.
The official, who was speaking at the opening of a forum on young women’s sexual health and rights, said that with this event it is intended that women have more health and sexual and reproductive rights.
“We hope that the forum will be the opening of a page, linked to the participation of young women in all aspects of life with a more active and incisive presence”, he said.
This forum is also intended, according to the Secretary of State, to encourage initiatives to change behavior with a view to raising the status of young Angolan women.
The event, organized by the Angolan Institute of Youth and the Association of Students of Private Universities of Angola, aims to empower young Angolan women with information capable of enabling them to prevent behavior that undermines their dignity.
