Mismanagement of the squad at the base of the draw with Ghana

Africa-Press – Angola. The inefficiency of the management of the squad dictated the home draw (1-1) of the National Team against Ghana, in a challenge for the 4th round of the qualifiers for access to CAN`2024, considered sports analysts in Moxico, this Tuesday.

Speaking to ANGOP, the sports analyst Jacinto Calialia considered that the technical team of the national combined had sinned in the operationalization of the substitutions, in the last phase of the challenge.

According to this analyst, the withdrawal of strikers Gelson Dala and Hélder Costa was not strategic, as they were the players who in the match demonstrated greater ability to control and manage the ball.

“In football, substitutions should not be made randomly, the coach did not know how to read the game when removing these players”, he maintained.

In turn, the sportsman Zeferino Menezes understands that there was a lack of competitive attitude and maturity among the selection’s players, suggesting more work for a better performance of the Palancas.

The fan Simião Salamba defended the creation of a management commission, to replace the current technical team, led by Pedro Gonçalves, with a view to recovering the mystical winner of the national team.

The draw, at the 11 de Novembro stadium, in Luanda, against Ghana compromises the aspirations of the Palancas Negras in the qualifiers for access to the CAN.

The goal for the national team was scored by Lucas João, in the 51st minute, with a penalty, while Osman Bukari scored for the visitors, in the 72nd minute.

With this result, the national team remains in third place in group E, with five points, behind leader Ghana, with eight, and the Central African Republic, with seven, second.

The Central Africans beat Madagascar by 2-0 on Monday afternoon.

Accounts made, to depend exclusively on itself, Angola is forced to win the last two remaining confrontations and the saga begins already on June 12 when they face the Central Africans, in a borrowed field, in Cameroon, while Madagascar receives Ghana.
