MMA Team Heads to Georgia World Championship

Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan senior and junior mixed martial arts (MMA) team, for both men and women, departed Thursday for Georgia, where they will compete in the World Championship, from September 25th to October 3rd.

The Angolan team aim to surpass their achievement of the last edition, in Uzbekistan, where they won five medals, including a gold medal won by athlete Maria Kitoco.

The delegation is led by the president of the Angolan MMA Federation, Armando Carlos Diogo, and also includes Jair Yoba (head coach), Nimi Francisco Pedro (grappling coach), and Dirk Hady da Silva Fortuna (physician).

Athletes called up: Seniors (male and female): Rolando Sanchez,

Ricardo Pireza, Milfa Kuenda Nicolau, Manuel Frazão, Nilza Muanha, Elizabeth Salvador, Daniela Maria Mandanji, Nadir Vieira, Maria Kitoco, Joemar de Sousa, Wilson Manuel, Filomeno Júlio da Silva, and Mário Stefan.

Juniors (male and female): Elias Augusto, Elfran Marques, Nicklas Helander, Ntoto Maria de Castro, Maria Liberal, Esperança Chilala, Cláudia Marina da Cruz dos Santos, Jeorgina Ludmila Panzo, and Clarence Francisco.
