Africa-Press – Angola. The Cuanhama District Court, Cunene province, judged 238 various criminal cases during the first quarter of the current year, compared to 315 in the previous period.
According to the report on the procedural movement this Thursday, it indicates that of the cases judged, 119 stand out from the criminal forum, of which 45 are summary, 35 common, 13 misdemeanors, 11 abbreviated and the same number of conditional freedoms, three of supervision of the coercive measure applied and a “habeas corpus”.
Of the cases judged, there are also 83 family cases, 34 civil cases and two labor cases.
According to the source, in the period in question, the agency’s judicial magistrates worked on three thousand and 113 criminal cases, of which two thousand and 797 were transferred and 316 new cases.
The report clarifies that of the volume of cases, 238 have been judged, 2,860 are ongoing and 15 others remain pending for various reasons.
The Cuanhama District Court, the first of its kind in the province of Cunene, came into operation in 2019, with only seven judges including the president, six in the capital and one in Cahama.
With an area of 87 thousand and 342 square kilometers and one million and 491 thousand inhabitants, the province has the municipalities of Cuanhama, Ombadja, Namacunde, Cahama, Cuvelai and Curoca.
