Africa-Press – Angola. Thirty-one kilometers of road, of the 37 that connect the cities of Uíge to Negage, in Uíge province, passing through the villages of Calumbo and Dambi, have already been completed.
Construction work on the aforementioned section, estimated at more than USD 29 million, is being carried out by the Chinese company CPP. More than 100 employees are involved in the execution of the work, including Angolans and Chinese.
The works started in 2016, having registered several stoppages due to the Covid-19 pandemic and financial problems.
This Wednesday, the head of the company overseeing the work, Cordeiro Makuntuala, explained that work on the base and sub-base, drainage ditches and horizontal and vertical signaling are ongoing.
Press found that 80 percent of the rehabilitation work on the road has already been carried out, with completion scheduled for the month of December this year.
The alternative section Uíge/Negage/Uíge connects the localities of Tangi, Quiôngua, Calumbo, Dambi, Pique, Quimbungo (municipality of Uíge) to the villages of Cahiri and Cangundo (Negage).
