More than 700 vulnerable families benefit from Kwenda in Cabinda

Africa-Press – Angola. Seven hundred and 47 vulnerable families in the Chiweca neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Cabinda, received, on Friday, their social monetary transfers under the Kwenda social protection and strengthening program.

On the occasion, the governor of Cabinda, Mara Quiosa highlighted the importance of the project in meeting the main needs of the populations and considered it positive in the province.

In turn, the director of the Local Development Institute (FAS) and coordinator of the Kwenda program in Cabinda, Daniel Muxixi, said that, from March to May this year, around 4 thousand and 30 families were registered in the districts of Nto, Caio coast and in the municipalities of Malembo and Tando Zinze.

He said that in the coming days, registered citizens of blind associations and patients with sickle cell anemia will be paid, a process that will take place until December 5th of this year.

The 4 municipalities, Cabinda headquarters, Cacongo, Buco-Zau and Belize are benefiting from the program with the registration of 11 thousand 90 families already registered and benefiting in the first phase.

The second phase foresees the registration of around 24 thousand families.

Kwenda at urban level is an intersectoral intervention where each beneficiary has already received an amount of 66 thousand kwanzas which is a semi-annual installment of the monthly value equivalent to ha11 thousand kwanzas.
