Africa-Press – Angola. Four thousand and 200 identity cards (ID) are awaiting collection at the Civil and Criminal Identification Posts in the province of Zaire.

According to the head of the provincial department of Civil and Criminal Identification, Paixão Correia, in statements this Tuesday, to the press, from 2023 to the present date, the number of abandoned identity cards has reduced from ten thousand to four thousand and 200.

He explained that the decrease was due to the constant appeals that his department has made to users, who at the level of the six municipalities in the region, use civil and criminal identification services to process this Angolan citizenship document.

Regarding the treatment and speed in issuing the identity card (ID), Paixão Correia said there were no reasons for complaints, highlighting that the equipment set up in the six municipalities works smoothly.

The province of Zaire has Civil and Criminal Identification posts in the municipalities of Mbanza Kongo, Soyo, Nzeto, Cuimba, Tomboco and Nóqui.

The region has an estimated population of more than 594 thousand inhabitants, spread across six municipalities, 25 communes and 711 villages.
