Africa-Press – Angola. One hundred and twelve thousand, seven hundred and seven young people were placed in the job market, in 2023, through the country’s employment centers, reported this Thursday, in Luanda, the Minister of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, Teresa Dias.

According to the minister, 113 thousand and seventy-eight job offers were registered, for 173 thousand and four hundred and sixty-one job applications, in that year.

The minister was speaking at the first Consultative Council of the Ministry of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, which takes place under the motto “Digitalization and digital transformation in public administration”.

“Observing the statistical data, we can see that employment centers continue to play an important role in inserting young people into the job market”, he said.

The minister highlighted that, in the same year, the behavior of the labor market, through the Multisectoral Technical Group for the Processing of Numerical Data on the Employment Market (GTME), resulted in the creation of 191 thousand and eight hundred new jobs, in different sectors of business economic activity and public administration.

Of the total, nine thousand, two hundred and fifty-nine jobs were destroyed, making a net total of 182 thousand, five hundred and forty-one jobs generated by the Angolan economy.

“Compared to the year 2022, there was a 43.6 percent reduction in jobs destroyed, as the market registered better macroeconomic stability, allowing for greater conservation of jobs”, he explained.

Regarding the implementation of Active Employment Policies, the minister said that one thousand six hundred and forty-eight citizens were benefited, nationally, with various work kits, and one hundred and twenty-two micro-credits were granted, generating five thousand eight hundred and sixteen jobs.

Regarding training, the governor highlighted that the National Institute of Professional Training, through the National Professional Training System, trained 88 thousand six hundred and seventy-one citizens.

On the other hand, he reported that the employment centers of Cazenga, Caxito, the Talatona Integrated Employment and Vocational Training Center had been rehabilitated and reopened and the works on the Cuíto and Moçâmedes Integrated Employment and Vocational Training Centers had been completed.

The centers were built and rehabilitated within the framework of the Program for Revitalization, Rehabilitation and Modernization of Employment Centers and Services (PREMCSE).
