Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of the eastern province of Moxico Leste, Crispiniano dos Santos, inspected the mobility and security status of the Luau border post, (07).
This is the border post between the municipality of Luau (Moxico Leste) and Dilolo, in neighboring DRC. The governor noted the readiness of the Border Police, as well as the Foreigners and Migration Service.
According to a note from the local government, Governor Crispiniano dos Santos received information about the flow of people and goods from one side to the other, and also assessed the functioning of the local Customs Delegation.
The municipality of Luau is a strategic border point between Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), forming part of the Lobito Corridor, where the last station of the Benguela Railway is located, a route with an extension of more than 1300 kilometers, which connects the west and east of the country.
Moxico Leste is one of the 21 provinces of Angola and has 411,074 inhabitants, distributed in 9 municipalities, namely Caianda, Cameia, Cazombo (Headquarter), Lago Dilolo, LoĢvua do Zambeze, Macondo, Luacano, Luau and Nana Candundo.
In addition to the DRC, Moxico Leste borders the Republic of Zambia to the east and south.
