Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial governor of Moxico, Ernesto Muangala, considered yesterday, in Luena, that the exchange with the Western province of Zambia constitutes a way to attract investments that could contribute to the development of the province.

According to the minister, who was taking stock of the 2nd session of the Moxico/Western Regional Cooperation and Cultural Exchange Meeting, development will be possible with the construction of roads that will link the two regions.

Another route to progress, in Muangala’s view, involves leveraging trade, setting up industries, improving English language teaching, sustainable management of natural resources, with emphasis on wood.

On the potential of Moxico, he highlighted fertile soils to invest in the most varied areas, mainly young population, the growing supply of electricity, the Benguela railway that gives access from the Atlantic coast to the Indian Ocean, airport units, among others.

Due to the listed potential, Ernesto Muangala encouraged the government of the Western province and businessmen to develop short, medium and long term actions in this territory.

In turn, the minister (governor) of the western province of Zambia, Kapelwa Mbangweta, promised to overcome the shortage of human resources in the various units of the province of Moxico.

According to the minister, visits to the Moxico Provincial Maternity Hospital, General Hospital and the Luau Municipal Hospital, which are now in their final stages, revealed that the region is determined and committed to providing quality health care to the population.

He reiterated the intention to build, from the municipality of Luacano (Moxico), the railway branch to the region of Jimbi, Zambia.

The minister (governor) who, during his stay in Moxico, made a trip to Luau, by CFB train, highlighted the beauty of nature in that province further east of Angola.

The 2nd session of the Regional Cooperation and Cultural Exchange Meeting between the Angolan provinces of Moxico and the Zambian provinces of the West, held from May 29 to June 1, had the objective of verifying

Moxico’s potential and socio-economic opportunities, associated with the axes targeted by understandings during the 1st meeting held in Mongu.

It also aimed to reinforce the ties of friendship and solidarity between the two peoples, with a view to promoting the social and economic development of the region.
