Africa-Press – Angola. The first secretary of the MPLA in Huambo province, Lotti Nolika, defended, this Thursday, the need for a positive socialization of the militants, so that they contribute more in strengthening the civic and patriotic education of the communities.
The party member was speaking during the opening of the pilot assembly for the renewal of mandates in the basic structures of the Angolan Women’s Organization (OMA), held in the municipal town of Longonjo, 64 kilometers west of the city of Huambo.
On the occasion, he called for greater dynamism in the education of militants, with a focus on building a more committed society capable of promoting common well-being.
Lotti Nolika also highlighted the importance of training women in various areas, so that they are better prepared to transmit civic, moral and patriotic values, both in the family and in society in general.
By resorting to the old maxim, according to which “who educates a woman, educates society”, the party encouraged the militants of the OMA (female branch of the MPLA) in the sense of remaining cohesive around the challenges of the present and the future, to the achievement of the proposed objectives, such as the emancipation and empowerment of this fringe of society.
The OMA controls, in Huambo province, more than five thousand sector committees and close to two thousand base sections, with a total estimated at 250 thousand militants, distributed over 11 municipalities.
