MPLA deputy points out joint work for the conclusion of the paralyzed works in Cuando Cubango

Africa-Press – Angola. MPLA MP Maricel Capama said Tuesday in Menongue that parliamentarians will advocate with central bodies for the completion of more than 35 social impact infrastructures that have been paralyzed for over 10 years in the province of Cuando Cubango.

These are hospital units, schools of the most varied levels of education, among others, which were part of the portfolio of the public investment program, either centrally or provincially coordinated, which, once completed, can contribute to improving the quality of life of counties.

Maricel Capama expressed her concern about the high number of works at a standstill since 2014, which at this time would be serving the well-being of the population in various areas.

The also coordinator of the monitoring group of the Political Bureau of the MPLA to Cuando Cubango, who was taking stock of her working visit, gave a positive note to the works of the Integrated Plan of Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM).

Without detailing the numbers, he only highlighted that they are taking place at a good pace, with a balance between physical and financial execution.

As for the road network, which is seen as the main impediment to the development of the province, he said that there are already projects in the tender phase which, in compliance with the law, will be approved and implemented, so that it can be seen that the roads are undergoing interventions.

He explained that the road that connects Caiundo/Cuangar, Cuangar/Catuitui in the border region with the neighboring Republic of Namibia already has the tender process well advanced and when it is intervened it will be another satisfaction, since it will facilitate the flow of products and the circulation of people and goods.

In Cuando Cubango, 76 PIIM projects are currently being implemented, valued at more than 36 billion kwanzas, 50 of which will be inaugurated from this month of June.
