Africa-Press – Angola. The acting first secretary of the MPLA in Cunene, Gonçalves Namweya, said this Saturday, in Cahama, the party’s continued commitment to improving the social conditions of Angolans.
Based on the MPLA 2023 Political Agenda, Gonçalves Namweya said that the document contains strategic lines that will promote the quality of life of citizens, through access to basic social services.
“The program reinforces the commitment to socio-economic development, for this reason, the Executive will continue to support the party in the need to comply as much as possible with its obligations towards Angolans”, said the politician during the act of launching the referred agenda.
For this year, he added, the party will face several challenges from the application of concrete measures to improve internal reorganization, deepen democracy and strengthen mobilization.
Gonçalves Namweya considers that the 2023/2027 governance program constitutes a fundamental document for adopting new mechanisms for the implementation, intensification and monitoring of priority plans and projects.
“The results achieved in the elections of August 24, 2022, refer us to measures that suit the current moment, adapting to the motto work more and communicate better”, he said.
The politician invited women to be more involved in programs that make it possible to increase their affirmation, emancipation and gender equality, when it comes to occupying leadership positions.
Gonçalves Namweya acknowledged that MPLA militants, friends and supporters in Cunene, in the last general elections, demonstrated their trust in the party and its leader João Lourenço, so they must remain determined.
Political Agenda based on 10 axes
The MPLA Political Agenda 2023 is based on the strategic axes of working more and communicating better, improving the organization of the party and its insertion in society, bringing governance closer to the citizen, improving working methods, mobilization and occupation of young people and women .
The plan foresees the deepening of internal democracy in the party and in social organizations, emphasizing compliance with the Statutes and Regulations and compliance with the decisions taken regularly by the competent bodies and bodies, rescuing the sense of love for the MPLA and commitment, as well as preserving unity of action with respect for diversity of thought.
Among the axes are also the promotion and assurance of quality governance, with emphasis on controlling the execution of public expenditure, in favor of development and the benefit of the population.
It is also intended to stimulate and monitor the implementation of small-scale economic and social actions, but with a direct impact on improving the population’s life, as well as establishing and promoting policies focused on the Angolan feeling among Angolan communities abroad.
