Africa-Press – Angola. The second secretary of the MPLA Provincial Committee, Nelo de Carvalho, considered today, Friday, in this city, that the party is focused on uniting Angolans and on actions aimed at the future and development of Angola.

According to the politician, this action also aims to strengthen the party’s cohesion and internal unity, promoting solidarity among its members, towards the country’s political and social progress.

The politician who spoke at the opening of the days commemorating the 67th anniversary of the MPLA, to be celebrated on the 10th of this month, highlighted the party’s support for the Executive’s initiatives to implement economic and financial measures aimed at the recovery and development of the economy, benefiting the business sector and families in need.

He said it was the intention to reflect the return of the party’s actions linked to resolving the aspirations of the Angolan people, satisfying their needs and promoting a culture of peace, harmony and healthy coexistence among Angolans.

The days take place under the motto “MPLA, 67 Years for Unity, Progress and Commitment for Angola” and were marked with a lecture on the party’s historical trajectory.

Activities related to the date include consultation meetings with zungueira women, domestic workers, young street vendors and car washers, visits to Action Committees, a health fair and the delivery of donations to families affected by the rains, among others.

The MPLA was founded on December 10, 1956, as the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola.
