Africa-Press – Angola. The secretary of the MPLA Information and Propaganda Department in Uíge, Virgílio Cordeiro João, appealed this Saturday, in the municipality of Púri, Uíge province, to the party’s leaders and cadres to adopt assertive communication when interacting with citizens.

The politician, who spoke at the opening of the first methodological meeting addressed to the secretaries and staff of the Information and Propaganda Departments (DIP) of the political formation, said that assertive communication is the transmission method, putting into practice the skill of a professional.

He stressed that politicians have to communicate and relate to the public in order to gain the population’s attention. For this reason, he said that party cadres must be equipped with techniques and knowledge about assertive communication.

At the event that took place under the motto “MPLA, work harder and communicate better”, Virgilio Cordeiro João highlighted that the leader must communicate with objectivity, firmness and clarity.

“The DIP is the voice of the party, for this reason, it cannot fail to communicate”, he said. Regarding the activity, he said that it aims to find better methods and solutions to train managers in matters of communication.

In Púri, the MPLA also held a lecture on “Youth and the correct use of social networks”.

For two days in Púri, the party will conclude its activities with a mass event, scheduled for Sunday (28).
