Africa-Press – Angola. The first provincial secretary of the MPLA in Uíge, José Carvalho da Rocha, reaffirmed Friday, in the municipality of Quitexe, the commitment of this political formation in raising awareness among the population to prioritize actions to preserve peace.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the day celebrating 67 years of existence of the MPLA, which marks the 10th of December, the politician said that only with peace can Angola develop and maintain its social well-being.
He stressed that peace, achieved on April 4, 2022, allowed the construction of various infrastructures and, consequently, the improvement of the population’s socioeconomic conditions.
He added that peace allowed the free movement of the population, construction of schools, hospitals, roads, bridges, among other benefits.
For this reason, he told the population of that locality that while preserving peace, the Angolan Government will continue to implement programs to combat poverty, implement projects under the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), among other actions.
In turn, the MPLA’s first municipal secretary in Quitexe, Dionisia Fernando António, reaffirmed the commitment to mobilizing new activists.
The holding of an 11-a-side football match, in the municipality of Quitexe, also marked the opening of the “10th of December Journeys” in the province of Uíge.
