Africa-Press – Angola. The analysis of the internal life of the MPLA and the implementation of the Government’s programs in the province of Moxico, with a view to improving the lives of the population, dominated the 5th Ordinary Session of the party’s Provincial Committee, led by First Secretary Ernesto Muangala.
During the meeting, members looked at the processes in the municipal assemblies and analyzed the mechanisms for dynamizing the party’s structures, to better integrate the MPLA into society.
The comrades also analyzed the activity plan for the year 2025, which includes the execution of several actions, as well as engagement in the tasks of the VIII Extraordinary Congress and the festivities of the 50th anniversary of National Independence, to be held next year.
Ernesto Muangala acknowledged, on the occasion, that the challenges to be faced in the Education, Health, Energy and Transport sectors are numerous, having considered them fundamental for the sustainable development and well-being of the population.
“We are aware of the difficulties faced by our youth in their search for employment and training opportunities. We are also aware of the challenges faced by our rural communities, which need more support to improve agricultural production and access to basic services,” he said.
Despite the economic and financial situation that negatively impacts public investment programs, the first secretary highlighted some achievements of the local government, within the scope of the Integrated and Intervention Plan for Municipalities (PIIM).
The official announced that, of the 128 projects registered in the PIIM portfolio, at the level of the province of Moxico, 79 have been completed, 11 in the Education sector, 14 in the Health sector, 12 in the communication routes and eight in the Water sector.
The termination of the contract with the first companies involved in the requalification works in the peripheral neighborhoods, the politician explained, allowed the Government to exert more pressure on the new contractors, highlighting that, as a result, 12 kilometers of asphalt have already been completed in the Kwenha, Passa Fome, Vila Luso and Social da Juventude neighborhoods.
“These actions have allowed for greater extension in the urban area, greater mobility and security and, little by little, we will restore the city of Luena, to give it more dignity and beauty”, he said.
Regarding the ongoing works on national roads, he said that 31 kilometres of the Luau/Luacano/Cameia section have been paved, as well as the earthworks of 70 kilometres of the Marco 25/Cazombo/Lumbala Caquengue section.
Ernesto Muangala expressed his satisfaction with the pace of work on the installation of the Luau Photovoltaic Power Plant, with 43 percent of the work completed, “actions that will cover all municipal and communal headquarters”.
The first secretary of the “comrades” considered the investment in Public Administration important.
