Africa-Press – Angola. The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the MPLA praised, this Saturday, the “valiant” nationalist and patriotic commitment, as well as other actions carried out by the former President of the Republic José Eduardo dos Santos, who died on 8 July 2022.
In a statement sent this Saturday, on the occasion of the first year of the death of the President Emeritus of the MPLA, this body recognizes that these qualities have allowed the party to keep on track with the ideals of the manifesto of its constitution, despite the metamorphoses imposed by social dynamics in the local and international context, as well as the firmness in carrying out the intentions of the Republic of Angola.
“It is, therefore, with deep resignation that the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the MPLA, on behalf of its militants, supporters and friends, recalls the date, with unrestrained pain, a feeling that is perpetuated in the hearts of the Angolan people in general, and of the relatives, who are still mourning the death of the deceased President Emeritus of the MPLA”, reads the document.
For all that it has done for the aggrandizement of the party and the Nation, he continues, the BP exhorts the Angolan people to the need to work together, with a remarkable degree of commitment to the common good, to continue to fight and work in order to maintain Peace and National Reconciliation, as acts that make up the greatest work of the Statesman José Eduardo dos Santos.
It expresses that a year later, Angola and the Angolans are still resigned to the physical disappearance of one of their best sons, whose unconditional commitment to the cause of the people and love for the country raised him to the pantheon of individuals of universal reference, holders of irrefutable indices of verticality and human dimension.
For this reason, it appeals to the entire Angolan nation to transform the date into a day of reflection on this first anniversary of the death of the late President Emeritus José Eduardo dos Santos, around the objectives sought for the pursuit of the well-being of the Angolan People, imbued with the spirit that “the most important thing is to solve the people’s problem”.
The former President of the Republic of Angola, José Eduardo dos Santos, died in the city of Barcelona, Kingdom of Spain, in 2022, due to illness.
