The provincial secretary of the MPLA in Lunda Norte, Deolinda Satula Vilarinho, said this Saturday that her party, as a government, will continue to develop actions aimed at boosting the diversification of the economy, with a view to the sustainable and harmonious development of the country.
The official reiterated this commitment during the act of presentation and dissemination of the MPLA’s political agenda for the current year, in the town of Cafunfu, municipality of Cuango, underlining that economic diplomacy that the Executive has been developing since 2017, have been attracting foreign investors to the country, a determining factor for the desired economic diversification.
According to Deolinda Vilarinho, nowadays, the party has a more challenging mission in search of better ways that lead to economic growth and development, with actions that should positively impact the economy of Angolan citizens and families.
In the province of Lunda Norte, for example, the official said that the government has already fully identified the problems, hence the action will be focused on its revolution in a concrete, urgent and dynamic way, giving priority to means of communication (roads) , increased production and distribution of electricity and drinking water.
He added that the government of Lunda Norte is working to attract investors capable of contributing to the relaunch of farming and livestock activity and the growth of the manufacturing industry, particularly in the mining sector.
Political-Administrative Division
On the other hand, he reiterated that the Angolan government is working on creating conditions for the implementation of the new political-administrative division that will elevate all communes to the category of municipality, to conform to demographic growth and combat asymmetries.
He said that it was the Executive’s objective to promote harmonious development and guarantee the quality of essential services provided to the population.
When it comes to fruition in 2024, he continued, the province of Lunda Norte should have another 19 new municipalities that, adding to the ten, could have 29, which in a way, will contribute significantly to the harmonious development of the region.
appeal to young people
Deolinda Vilarinho, appealed to young people in Lunda Norte to refrain from practices that jeopardize social peace, avoiding participating in acts of vandalism of public property and riots.
He stressed that young people should be committed to the social development of the country, with the preservation of social peace, unity and national reconciliation, living in diversity.
It encouraged young people to invest in academic improvement, so that they can be increasingly prepared for the challenges of the present and the future.
The MPLA’s strategic axes for the political year of 2023 are “to promote and ensure quality governance, with emphasis on controlling the execution of public expenditure”, “to encourage and monitor the implementation of small-scale economic and social actions, but with a direct impact on improving the lives of the population”.
The agenda envisages “establishing and promoting policies that stimulate Angolan sentiment among Angolan communities abroad”.
Also part of the document is the promotion of unity of action with respect for diversity of thought”, “Rescuing the sense of love for the MPLA and commitment”, “Deepening internal democracy in the party and in social organizations, emphasizing compliance with the Statutes and Regulations and compliance with the decisions taken regularly by the competent bodies and bodies”.
“Improving working methods and mobilization and occupation of young people and women”, “bringing the party’s governance closer and its insertion into society”, as well as “Working harder and communicating better” are among the axes.
