Africa-Press – Angola. The specialized working committees of the National Assembly approved on Monday (23), in Luanda, the Draft Resolution for the constitution of the PARLASUL National Group and its integration into the National Monitoring Group for the Parliaments of South America.

According to the joint report, the creation of this group will allow monitoring both bilateral relations with the Parliaments of South America and multilateral connections through PARLASUL.

Deputy Felino Job explained that the project aims to establish cooperative relations with the National Assembly, through the creation of a friendship group between PARLASUL and the National Assembly, as well as the signing of cooperation agreements in the political, economic, social and cultural fields.

The document will be voted on at the Extraordinary Plenary Meeting of the 4th Legislative Session of the V Legislature of the National Assembly on the 26th of the current month.

The MERCOSUL Parliament (PARLASUL) is the legislative body of MERCOSUL and the representative voice of the citizens of the Member States of the regional bloc (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay).

Currently, it is composed of 43 parliamentarians from Argentina, 37 from Brazil, 18 from Paraguay and 18 from Uruguay. Bolivia, which is in the process of joining, is composed of 18 parliamentarians with the right to speak.

The creation of PARLASUL strengthens democracy, transparency and citizen integration, ensuring that MERCOSUL decisions reflect political pluralism and regional diversity.
