Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial court of Huambo sentenced, this Thursday, Vitorino Soma Bongue, known as 10K, to 24 years in prison, for the crime of qualified homicide against a Chinese businessman, in February 2022.
24-year-old Vitorino Soma Bongue was declared the moral and material author of a crime of robbery concurrent with a qualified homicide, assisted by seven members of his family, in which Chinese businessman Bie Jian Jun was the victim.
The incident took place around 9 pm on February 11, 2022, in the commune of Chipipa, municipality of Huambo, during an assault on the plywood factory belonging to the 50-year-old victim, fatally shot with a firearm, in the abdomen region.
During the reading of the judgment, the judge and president of the cause, Gerves Manuel Domingos, also condemned the defendant to pay the amount of eight million 105 thousand kwanzas in compensation for the goods subtracted at the factory and one million 500 thousand kwanzas in compensation to the victim’s family.
Likewise, he was sentenced, together with co-defendants Vítor Soma Bongue, aged 18, Leonardo Maurício Bongue (20 years old) and Godinho Manuel Sebastião (25 years old), to pay, individually, 120 thousand kwanzas of justice.
In the same process, under number 562/22 and held in the 1st Section of Criminal Matters, the co-defendants Leonardo Maurício Bongue and Godinho Manuel Sebastião were also sentenced to four years in prison, for the crime of criminal association and detention of Prohibited weapons and ammunition.
Co-defendant Vítor Soma Bongue was also sentenced to three years in prison for criminal association, while Feliciano Chivala Bongue and Rufino Sambundu Domingos had their sentences suspended for a period of two years.
Despite the suspended sentence, Feliciano Chivala Bongue and Rufino Sambundu Domingos were sentenced to pay 200,000 kwanzas in court fees and the obligation not to commit any crime, especially in the next two years.
The Court absorbed, due to insufficient evidence, the co-defendants Constantino Calmeiras Frias and Pinto Pedro Capusso, aged 20 and 22, respectively.
