Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial commander of the Civil Protection and Fire Service (SPCB) for Management Area, Tembo Salemba, appealed this Monday, in the city of Saurimo (Lunda-Sul), to professionals to be guided by prudence and professionalism in the extinction of possible fires in institutions, preventing further damage.

Intervening at the end of the first fire brigade training course, which included 14 technicians from public and private companies, the person in charge considered compliance with protection and safety measures to be essential.

He pointed out that the use of tools that contribute to minimizing damage is predominant.

The classes were taught by experts in fire prevention and extinguishing matters, in coordination with the Private and Volunteer Firefighter Supervision Section.

In 2023, Lunda-Sul recorded 135 small fires, compared to 17 in 2022, which caused four deaths and material damage valued at 70 million 292 thousand Kwanzas.
