The OMA provincial secretary praised, Wednesday, in Luanda, the engagement of President João Lourenço, in the consecration of the value of academic women for socio-economic and political development, expressed at the highest level, with the appointment of the vice president of the MPLA, and more recently the candidate for Vice-President of the Republic and President of the National Assembly.
Ana Maria Cordeiro Alves said that Angola has been an example in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) program in terms of gender parity, as the leadership of the Republic and the party, led by the Head of State, João Lourenço, is evident in the bodies of decision.
Speaking at the opening of the round table on the theme “Women, Academy and Development”, the official highlighted that the OMA in Luanda has contributed to the defense of this layer of society in various segments.
Academic Woman
Idalina Valente, a member of the MPLA Political Bureau, when speaking on the topic of “the role of Angolan academic women in achieving the goals of the 20/30 agenda”, said that it is important to talk about gender equality, as it is one of the objectives, so that the woman is in a decision-making position.
He added that parity is a good principle, as women have played an important role since Angola’s independence. She mentioned that the recognition of gender equality is a decisive factor in the sustainable development of countries.
