Africa-Press – Angola. The Youth Training Plan, conceived in the light of the protocol between the Angolan Media Library Network (REMA) and the Luanda Telecommunications Institute (ITEL), to awaken in young people an interest in a professional technical career in various fields of activity, is being carried out, since yesterday, in the province of Malanje.
The deputy director for the Technical area of the Angola Media Library Network (REMA), Juliana Panzu, said, at the launch of the project, that the objective is to promote science, technologies, education in culture and art. Another goal, she added, is to fight social exclusion, through inclusion, and giving young people more initiatives to be entrepreneurs.
The director of the Medium Institute of Telecommunications of Luanda (ITEL), Cláudio Gonçalves, said, on behalf of the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, that the project is essential, especially as it has a national scope.
“ITEL is now asserting itself as a reference in the technical and technological training of qualified staff in Angola. Similar to what we do at the Instituto de Telecomunicações, we have also created a technological training center, so that we can provide young people with qualitative training, capable of allow us to face the challenges of the national market and beyond”, he explained.
For the training in question, four areas of action are identified, with emphasis on the program of the Cisco and Huawei Technology Academies, the “Eu Sei Fazer” project and the Youth Training Plan, in principle all free and open to interested parties.
“Whoever is interested in obtaining qualifications in the area of technological training can, with this project, do so, at the center of ITEL. It is a training that allows trainees to have an international certification and thus opportunities to work”, he explained.
The extension of the courses in the other provinces of the country, he said, is a response to the appeal made by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, during a visit to the ITEL training center. “The challenge was to replicate the activities carried out in the center of Luanda in the other provinces”.
After the challenge, he explained, in coordination with the Angola Media Library Network, which already has infrastructure in several provinces of the country, the ITEL board decided to carry out training plans at national level, starting with Malanje. “The plan’s package of activities includes three free training courses in the area of technologies”, he reinforced.
The deputy governor of Malanje for the political, economic and social sector, Domingos Eduardo, encouraged the young participants to give their best, in order to contribute to the country’s development in the future.
“These are already programmed actions and not electoral campaigns, prepared to help the youth in overcoming and taking into account the challenges of the 21st century, in which technology is an essential tool”, he said.
