Africa-Press – Angola. At least 2,059 products were registered on the Made in Angola Seal (SFA) platform, and 479 companies signed up to the brand, on Thursday in Luanda.

The information is described in the 2023-2027 PDN Balance Sheet Report – First Quarter of 2025 (Summary), adding that in the first three months of this year, 46,948 companies were certified, of which 40,694 are micro-enterprises.

It clarifies that 4,740 economic operators were trained, distributed across nine training initiatives, with emphasis on entrepreneurship, capital markets, the Envolver project, the Coal project, and agricultural management – Commercial Agriculture Development Project (PDAC).

In partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), it states, 87 rural entrepreneurs received training in their fields.

Agriculture

Furthermore, it clarifies that the operationalization and technical assistance provided to the 9,754 Field Schools has been ensured, and that the project to rehabilitate the infrastructure supporting family farming in the municipalities of Cuito and Catabola, Bié province, is underway. It reports that construction work on the Regional Cassava Leadership Center is nearing completion.

Livestock

The report states that, during the reporting period, a total of 53,371 tons of meat were produced, compared to the target of 531,444 tons planned for the current year. Regarding eggs and liters of milk, it estimates production of 625,420,000,000, compared to the target of 2,981,000,000, and 1,590,000,000, compared to the planned 11,700,000,000.

Forests

According to the document, the country produced 11,700 cubic meters of roundwood, compared to the target of 118 cubic meters, and 7,750 cubic meters of sawn timber, compared to the target of 89,000 planned for the current year.

Fisheries and Salt

In the fisheries sector, the report indicates that 105,700 tons of fish were caught in the industrial and semi-industrial fishing subsectors, compared to the target of 356,840 tons for the current year.

It also indicates that 60,930 tons of fish were caught in the artisanal marine fishing subsector, compared to the target of 280,820, as well as 6,070 tons of fish in the inland fishing subsector, compared to the target of 24,810. “Production capacity was maintained through the operationalization of 829 aquaculture projects, of which 664 were small, 154 medium, and 11 large,” the document states.

It explains that approximately 24,050 tons of fingerlings (young fish) were produced, compared to the planned target of 15, and were used to produce approximately 6,800 tons of tilapia.

It clarifies that 10,300 tons of aquaculture feed, compared to the target of 22,500 tons, were generated during the reference period.

It announces that the Immediate Measures for the Operationalization of the Aquaculture Sector (MIODA) were approved and are being implemented by Presidential Decree. 163 people were trained under Angola’s Salt Iodization Program in the provinces of Namibe, Bengo, Cuanza Sul, Benguela, and Bié.
