Africa-Press – Angola. Angola’s ambassador to Japan, Teodolinda Rosa Rodrigues Coelho, learned, Tuesday, about the workings of the Japanese television channel NHK, which has a digital service in Portuguese and also broadcasts news from the African continent.
NHK is the largest Japanese television broadcaster, one of the most influential in Asia, and broadcasts content in Japanese and English.
According to a press release, the diplomat met with members of the television’s board of directors, specifically directors Tsunetomo Watanabe (Deputy Administrator), Isamu Kobayashi (International Service), and Ando Masaaki (Foreign Languages Producer), and learned about development projects.
Founded in 1925, NHK was a world pioneer in high-definition broadcasting and offers up-to-date information about Japan and Asia through television, radio, and digital platforms, reaching a global audience.
Its programming includes news, seismic alert services, sporting events, music, documentaries, soap operas, and children’s programs, reflecting Japan’s cultural and technological diversity.
