Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan National Team trained this Tuesday afternoon, at the Liceu Técnico, on the outskirts of the city of Bouaké, behind closed doors, avoiding possible looks from direct opponents in this CAN`2023, which is taking place in Côte d`Ivoire.

Not even the Angolan press managed to glimpse any tactical action by the national team on the field. During the 15 minutes allowed, the athletes did nothing more than stretch and run slowly.

After the game with Algeria (1-1), this Monday, Angola will face Mauritania on Saturday for the second round of group D.

During training, Portuguese coach Pedro Gonçalves also chose not to appoint any representative for interviews generally permitted in situations of this kind.

After the valiant draw with two-time champion Algeria, at the Estádio da Paz, a victory for the Palancas Negras against Mauritania would practically place Angola in the round of 16 of this 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations.

24 teams participate in the competition, divided into six groups, with the first two in each and the four best third-placed teams qualifying for the “eighth”.
