Africa-Press – Angola. Africa has lost a great leader committed to defending the rights of Angolan and African women in the noble ideals of peace, development and equality, said Luzia Inglês, regional secretary of the Pan-African Women’s Organization (OPM).
He recognized the unconditional support for the OPM, whose headquarters were established in Luanda after the V Congress, held in 1986, and was in operation in the country until 2008, during which time great material and financial political support was provided to the organization.
Luzia Inglês said, in a statement, that they hope that the ex-Statesman’s achievements and his works serve as a lesson for future generations, so that they can walk with dignity, respect and peace the paths to a developed and prosperous Africa for all mainland sons and daughters.
“On behalf of the women of the Southern sub-Region, gathered at the OPM, I pay tribute to the former Angolan President, who died on July 8, 2022, in Spain, and I bow with deep respect for the great contribution made by the OPM and the promotion of African women, the pacification of the continent and the strengthening of relations of friendship and cooperation between African peoples”, underlined the official.
He stressed that the great contribution made by former President José Eduardo dos Santos in the leadership of the Angolan people, in achieving peace, reconciliation and national reconstruction, as well as the noble contribution to the end of Apartheid in Southern Africa, the Independence of Namibia and the establishment of an effective peace in the Southern and Central Region of the continent.
The regional secretary of the Pan-African Organization of Women (OPM), Luzia Inglês, left her heartfelt condolences and a deep feeling of condolences to the family and the Angolan State for the physical passing of the deceased.
“There is no word that can be said that is capable of comforting the hearts of family members, friends and colleagues, especially when it comes to a loving father, a man with unusual human abilities. Therefore, death is a life process that It is always difficult for us to accept it, but the memories and endless recollections of his role in the family remain forever”, he lamented.
José Eduardo dos Santos died at age 79 in Barcelona, Spain, after a prolonged illness.
