Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan National Assembly approved on Monday, in the Specialized Working Committees, the Bill to Amend Law No. 22/11, of June 17, Personal Data Protection Law, with 10 votes in favor, none against and 12 abstentions.
The Bill, suggested by the UNITA Parliamentary Group, aims to allow greater access for citizens and political parties to personal data relating to voters, within the scope of the Major Citizens Database (BDCM), the Major Citizens Computer File (FICM) and electoral rolls, aiming to promote transparency and access to personal data of an electoral nature.
The legislative initiative also intends to expand access for citizens and political parties to electoral data, without prejudice to the right to individual privacy, as well as guaranteeing the authenticity and reliability of electoral data.
To achieve these purposes, the Bill provides for changes, additions and revocations to current legislation.
During the work session, parliamentarians also approved draft resolutions authorizing the definitive replacement of deputy Josefina Ndesipewa Gomes, as well as deputy Erika Line Batalha de Carvalho.
In the same session, the green light was also given to the draft resolutions on the double adoption of the minor Rita Maria and the single-person adoption of the minor Filipe António Baptista, among other Bills.
Today, the Joint Opinion Report of the Draft Resolution on the Agreement Relating to the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biodiversity in Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction was also approved in general.
Likewise, the Draft Amendment to the Electoral Observation Law, the Draft Amendment to the Law on Political Parties, as well as the Draft Law on the Exercise of Democratic Opposition were approved.
