PCP warns of "interference" operations in Angola from Portugal

Africa-Press – Angola. The Portuguese Communist Party (PCP) warned this Monday of “interference operations” carried out from Portugal to destabilize Angola.

In a statement, the communists congratulated the MPLA and considered that the 51.17% reached by the party express the recognition by the population “of the historical path and fundamental role” of that political force “in the conquest of independence, defense of sovereignty and integrity territory in the face of the aggression of the apartheid regime”.

In the document, quoted by CNN, the PCP “denounces the interference operations that, from Portugal, seek, once again, to promote the destabilization of Angola”, warning of the attempt “to jeopardize the electoral process” by UNITA. and other political forces “in the face of their defeat” and “as in previous situations”.

In the PCP’s view, the political forces that are contesting the result of the elections “do not accept the sovereign will, freely and democratically expressed” by the Angolans.
