Africa-Press – Angola. The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) praised this Wednesday, in Luanda, the role of the Media, in publicizing the actions of the Executive, led by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
The recognition was made by the Attorney General of the Republic, Hélder Fernando Pitta Gróz, when speaking to the press at the end of his swearing-in ceremony, for a five-year term.
During the ceremony, led by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, the Deputy Attorney General of the Republic, Inocência Maria Pinto, also took office.
“I want to thank the media, because your commitment, throughout the years of the first term, was in fact fundamental and essential for the entire population to know the work carried out”, he said.
Pitta Gróz praised the work of the media regarding the vote by the Superior Council for the Judiciary.
The Attorney General of the Republic and the Deputy Attorney General of the Republic were appointed on Tuesday by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, under the terms of the proposal of the Superior Council for the Judiciary of the Public Ministry.
Established in April 1979, the PGR is a body with the function of representing the State, namely in the exercise of criminal proceedings, defense of the rights of natural and legal persons, legality in the exercise of the judicial function and supervision of legality in the of preparatory instruction of the processes and the fulfillment of the sentences.
