Africa-Press – Angola. More than 34 billion kwanzas were spent by the Provincial Government of Moxico to complete 67 projects included in the Public Investment Program (PIP) in 2024.

According to the press release from the second ordinary meeting of the Community Consultation Council of the province of Moxico, the projects, linked to the construction of social infrastructures, are part of a set of 178 works registered for the current financial year 2024, with various sources of financing.

According to the note from the meeting chaired by the governor of Moxico, Ernesto Muangala, the 67 completed projects covered the sectors of education, health, housing, basic sanitation, water, roads, among others.

The note states that the execution of these works allowed the creation of two thousand and 500 jobs for local young people, mainly from rural areas.

During the Ordinary session, the members were informed about the amounts from the General State Budget (OGE) allocated to the province of Moxico for the financial year 2025, valued at 104 billion Kwanzas.

For the province of Moxico-Leste, recently created under the New Political-Administrative Division, the State Budget for 2025 is set at 43.6 billion kwanzas.

With the new Political-Administrative Division, the province of Moxico will have, as of January 2025, 12 municipalities (Luena/provincial headquarters), Camanongue, Léua, Lucusse, Lutembo, Lumbala-Nguimbo, Ninda, Chiúme, Cangamba, Alto-Cuito, Cangumbe and Lutuai.

The neighbouring province of Moxico-Leste will have nine municipalities (Cazombo/capital headquarters, Nana-Candundo, Caianda, Lóvua do Zambeze, Macondo, Luau, Lago-Dilolo, Luacano and Cameia).
