Africa-Press – Angola. The Prime Minister of Portugal, António Costa, considered, this Monday, a “beautiful example” of the work that his country’s companies carry out in Angola.
António Costa, who was speaking to the press at the end of the visit to two factories located in the Industrial Zone of Viana, said that all this has been possible as a result of the possibilities provided by the Angolan Government.
The Prime Minister considered the implantation of Portuguese companies in the Angolan market a “great opportunity whose purpose is to create more jobs”.
During the visit to the Industrial Zone of Viana, the Prime Minister of Portugal saw the operation of the “Casais” factory, dedicated to the construction and real estate sector.
The company has been operating in Angola for over 25 years and employs over 200,000 workers, mostly Angolans.
António Costa visited, also in the Industrial Zone of Viana, the company
Acail Gás, dedicated to the production of butane gas.
The said unit, which has been operating in Angola since 2005, has already invested more than 300 million euros.
For the president of the Acail Gás Group,
António Andrade, the creation of the factory reduced gas imports in the country and aggregated the supply of the product to the oil industry.
The official considered the Prime Minister’s visit to Angola to be “important”, as it will strengthen relations between the two countries.
The Portuguese Prime Minister’s visit program to Angola reserves, for this Tuesday, trips to Banco Caixa Angola, to the Fortress of São Francisco do Penedo, as well as to the Portuguese School of Luanda.
In Angola there is a strong presence of Portuguese companies operating in sectors such as construction and banking.
