Africa-Press – Angola. Commissioner-general Arnaldo Manuel Carlos stressed, this Saturday, in Huambo province, that the National Police is prepared to ensure the country’s next general elections, called for 24 August.
Addressing the closing of the 20th Basic Police Course for Licensed Personnel at Military Availability of the FAA, he highlighted the corporation’s mission in defending the State’s assets and guaranteeing public order and tranquility.
He added that the 1,164 licensed to military personnel and deployed to the new Reaction and Patrol Unit (URP) are also in a position to fight crime, especially violent crime.
According to the commander-in-chief, the 45-day training served to update the knowledge of the Public Order, Reaction and Patrol Police officers in order to be up to date with the phenomena of society.
To the finalists, he advised, they should continue to improve their knowledge, guiding their actions by a posture of discipline and responsibility, assuming the theoretical and practical valences acquired in fulfilling the missions.
During the closing ceremony, more than 700 personnel from the 20th basic course were promoted and patented to the ranks of 3rd class agents and three to senior officers.
In fulfillment of the work agenda, the commissioner-general, Arnaldo Manuel Carlos went to the Faustino Muteka Center, in the municipality of Caála, where he inaugurated a police station and made the official delivery, in the city of Huambo, of the Reaction and Patrol Unit (URP).
