Africa-Press – Angola. The Portuguese Minister of Finance, Fernando Medina, highlighted this Monday, in Luanda, the work left by the Portuguese businessman Rui Nabeiro, in more than 40 countries, especially in Angola, where he reactivated and revitalized the coffee sector and created the Ginga brand.
Fernando Medina, in Angola on a working visit, went to meet the company Angonabeiro, in the municipality of Cacuaco, to witness the role and work of revitalizing the coffee sector in Angola and, at the same time, pay homage to the legacy left by Commander Rui Nabeiro , founder of the Nabeiro Delta Cafés Group, who died last March.
Accompanied by the Portuguese ambassador in Angola, Francisco Alegre Duarte, the Portuguese minister, who was speaking to the press, said that “Rui Nabeiro leaves a very large legacy at an economic level and also a new generation at the head of the company, with an example of what he was , as a businessman and a man who marked the lives of thousands of people across the country and abroad, as we see here”.
For the financial director of Angonabeiro, Carlos Gomes, the company has an export vocation, which is why he believes in the export potential of Angolan coffee, a profitable activity in terms of the diversification of the economy.
The Angolan market is one of the most important for the Nabeiro Group, which has made constant investments in the country to take advantage of the rich flavor of Angolan coffee. Proof of this is the fact that Angola is the only country, with the exception of Portugal, where the Group has a factory, which already has more than a hundred employees in Angola.
The company ensures continuous supply to all provinces from its facilities in Luanda, where it has a warehouse covering 4,000 square meters and the Café Ginga factory, which produces more than 400 tonnes of roasted coffee annually.
Annually, Angonabeiro buys around 1,200 tonnes of coffee in Angola, destined for the export of green coffee and the production of coffee under the Ginga brand for the Angolan market.
One of the company’s focuses is the export of green coffee to the Group’s headquarters in Portugal, where it is roasted and sent to the more than 40 countries where Delta is present, and the export of the finished product Ginga, produced only in the factory in Luanda .

Angonabeiro is a company of the Nabeiro Group which, since 2000, operates in the Angolan market in the area of commerce and industry. The Nabeiro Group and Delta Cafés maintain a strong and ancient connection with Angola, which dates back to the time when the country already occupied a prominent place in world coffee production.
In the late 1990s, Delta Cafés was invited by the Government of Angola to collaborate in the rehabilitation and reactivation of an old industrial unit, with the aim of relaunching the Ginga coffee brand, producing 100% Angolan coffee.
