Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, reaffirmed this Friday, in Luanda, his satisfaction with the performance of the National Football Team at CAN’2023, in Côte d’Ivoire, despite the elimination in the quarter-finals.
According to the Head of State, Angola did well at CAN`2023, which is why he invited Angolans, in general, and the National Team, in particular, not to be discouraged.
“In this CAN we did well, but we need to improve, learning from our mistakes”, posted the Angolan President on his X social network account.
João Lourenço was reacting to the result of the quarter-final match, played at the Félix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium, in Abidjan, in which Angola lost 0-1 to Nigeria.
“Don’t be discouraged. The next one (CAN) will be ours, we only depend on all of us, on MINJUD, FAF, Palancas (Negras) and all Angolan fans”, wrote the Head of State in his communication.
Before the end of the game, João Lourenço wrote in the same space, leaving words of encouragement such as “Força Palancas. Força Angola. The Nation is united. We will win!”
