Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, swore Monday, the new holder of the General Inspectorate of State Administration (IGAE), Ângelo de Barros Veiga Tavares, who he asked to maintain the visibility gained by the institution in the last years.

At the ceremony, in the Main Hall of the Presidential Palace, where the new Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Angola (BNA), Maria Juliana de Fontes Pereira, and the Executive Administrator, Maria de Fátima Trindade Poças, were sworn in, the Head of State said expect from the entities sworn in “all the dedication to work in order to successfully fulfill the functions for which they were appointed”.

Ângelo Tavares, who worked as a consultant to the President of the Republic after having been Minister of the Interior, replaces Sebastião Ngunza, currently President of the Court of Auditors.

The deputy governor of the BNA, Maria Juliana de Carvalho Van-Dúnem de Fontes Pereira, replaces Manuel António Tiago Dias, the current governor of the central bank.

Those sworn in swore to respect the Constitution, the law and refrain from acts of corruption and nepotism.

The IGAE is the auxiliary body of the President of the Republic and Holder of the Executive Power, with the mission of carrying out the internal administrative control of the Public Administration.

It carries out control via inspection, supervision, auditing, supervision, control, investigation and investigations of the activity of all organs, agencies and services of the direct and indirect administration of the State, as well as of the autonomous administrations.

The National Bank of Angola, as central bank and issuer, has the main functions of ensuring the preservation of the value of the national currency and participating in the definition of monetary, financial and exchange rate policies.

The BNA is also responsible for implementing, monitoring and controlling monetary, exchange rate and credit policies, managing the payment system and administering the currency within the scope of the country’s economic policy.
