Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, returned to Luanda on Monday, after an official visit of two days to Portugal, at the invitation of the authorities of this European country, in the context of strengthening the existing bilateral cooperation.
At 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, the Angolan Head of State, accompanied by the First Lady of the Republic, Ana Dias Lourenço, received greetings from the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, among other personalities.
In Lisbon, the Head of State had meetings with the president of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro and with representatives of the Portuguese business class.
He made a courtesy visit to the Assembly of the Republic, where he was received by the leader of the Portuguese Parliament, José Aguiar-Branco.
João Lourenço witnessed the signing of eleven new legal instruments of cooperation, between Angola and Portugal, which cover areas such as safety, transport, education, technical training, investment and civil protection.
On the second and last day of the official visit was part, with the Portuguese counterpart, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, in Cascais, Portugal, from the Eurafrican Forum 2025, marked by a direct dialogue between the two Heads of State.
