Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço on Monday worked in the province of Icolo e Bengo for road works assessment.

The Head of State checked the progress of the rehabilitation project of National Road 110, on the Catete/Cabala/Muxima section.

Later, he was on National Road 230 to check the rehabilitation works on the Catete/Maria Teresa section, according to a note from the press office of the Presidency of the Republic received by ANGOP.

The province of Icolo e Bengo emerged under the new Political-Administrative Division (DPA) of Angola, approved on August 14, 2024, by the National Assembly.

In the new configuration, the country now has three new provinces, making up 21 regions, 326 municipalities and 378 communes.

The new provinces resulted from the division of Moxico (Moxico-Leste), Cuando Cubango (Cubango), and Luanda (Icolo e Bengo).
