Africa-Press – Angola. The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, praised, this Wednesday, in Paris, the partnership with Angola within the framework of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
The French statesman mentioned the partnership between the two countries in a message read at the opening ceremony of the First Global Summit of the School Feeding Coalition, which includes the participation of an Angolan delegation led by the Minister of Education, Luísa Grilo.
This partnership is being materialized in the Education sector, through the Agricultural and Rural Training Support Project (PAFAR), financed by the French Development Agency (AFD), for an amount of 35 million euros.
The PAFAR project aims to contribute to the reduction of food insecurity and poverty in rural areas, developing agricultural production and the value chain and adopting environmentally friendly agricultural practices.
The cooperation focuses on the network of agricultural technical institutes across the country, with the aim of starting a revitalization of agricultural training in the secondary and technical-vocational education subsystem.
Regarding the meeting, which ends this Thursday, the 19th, it has the participation of more than 90 countries and several partners, such as UN agencies, international organizations, NGOs, think tanks and academia.
The event, which takes place under the sponsorship of the French Head of State and the World Food Program (WFP), has the motto “Investing in future generations: Human Capital, Sustainable Food Systems and Actions against Climate Change through School Food”.
The objective is to promote the mobilization and commitment of partners and jointly define ambitious goals until 2030.
