President of the Republic appoints judges to the Supreme Court

Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, appointed by order, this Monday, eight judges to join the Supreme Court.

These are judges Anabela Couto de Castro Valente, António Fernando Neto da Costa, Artur Domingos Gunza, Inácio Paixão, Maria Guiomar Vieira Dias Gamboa Craveiro, Paciência Graça Diaquiesse Dondeiro Simão, Pedro Nazaré Pascoal and Raúl Carlos de Freitas Rodrigues.

According to a note from the Secretariat for Institutional Communication and Press Affairs of the President of the Republic, the nomination results from a proposal by the Superior Council of the Judiciary and aims to fill the post of counselor judges of the Supreme Court.

The nominees were approved by competitive examination, for the provision of vacancies in this court.

In another decree, President João Lourenço exonerated, for convenience of service, António Fernando Neto da Costa from the post of Deputy Secretary of the Council of Ministers, having appointed José Maria Varela Gomes Borges to this post.

João Lourenço also exonerated Francisco João de Carvalho Neto from the position of Secretary of the President of the Republic for Judicial and Legal Affairs.

In another diploma, the Head of State appointed Edilson Paulo Agostinho to the position of Secretary of the President of the Republic for Judicial and Legal Affairs.
